Makers' Black Friday

I've scoped out what Craftsy is calling "The Biggest Sale of the Year" and here are my recommendations. Hurry because the sale only goes through this weekend.
It's no secret that I love Aurifil thread; being an Aurifil Artisan is a bit of a give-away. Now's the time to pick up the Tula Pink Ultimate Collection Thread Box since it's over half off.
The largest Foldaway Cutting Mat is under $30. I love this for travel or alongside my sewing machine during paper piecing.
It pairs nicely with the deeply discounted Clover Wedge Iron...

which happens to fit in the Omnigear Project Case.
The Blueberry Park Stash Builder is now under $80. It's just so pretty!
The Butterfly Quilt Kit includes the Tula Pink pattern and 12 7/8 yards of FreeSpirit True Colors fabrics to make the 88" x 94" quilt for $110.
The Elephant Abstraction Quilt Kit is now half off at $75.
I love online shopping, but shipping costs can be a drag. To solve that problem, use the code HANDMADE for free shipping.
That's enough temptation for now. See you later for some tutorials!

Sariella Trunk Show: Bats and Butterflies

I'm back with all the fun and games at the Sariella Trunk Show. In case you missed my first segment, go see my last post.
The pillow on the right has glow in the dark embroidery floss. Isn't that fun?
I've long since admired the Midnight Bite and Wicked Weaver patterns since I discovered them during the Epic Halloween Halloween Quilt-Along.
Along the lines of winged creatures, Sariella showed off their beautiful 3D creations for which they have a tutorial on Instagram. Now I have an excuse to buy all pretty butterfly fabrics from Alison GlassLizzy House, and Bonnie Christine to make a shadow box display.
The mini on the left was created for the Art Gallery Playground Quilt Market booth. On the right is Sariella's Half Square Gingham for the Fabric.com Summer Block Party and Half Square America, a pattern with 50% of the proceeds going to Service Dogs for Heroes and donated blocks being made into quilts for The Wounded Warrior Project.
The Saki Quilt shows off the preferred design style of each of the ladies, and serves as their company logo.
Take Wing is a rainbow delight using V & Co. fabrics and an unconventional quilt shape.
Neo Quilt was created for the Avant Garde Fabrics Blog Tour. The Neovol pattern is a free upload.
The Neoteric Quilt Pattern also features the Neosphere and Neoburst quilt block patterns.
Thanks for joining me on this fun little jaunt!

Sariella Trunk Show: Diamonds & Donuts

This weekend I had the pleasure of attending a trunk show featuring the duo Sariella, composed of Sarah of Sariditty and Nicole (Nikki) of Lillyella, at Hip Stitch.

The pair shares my affinity for donuts, which shows in Baker's Dozen, an 18" mini created using 1/4 circle blocks and available as a free PDF pattern download. I adored their creative use of novelty fabrics and trims.
 And the donut LOVE continued.

The larger version is called Bakery Box, and is available in Issue 17 of Modern Quilts Unlimited.
The inspiration continued!

A well-rounded display of wall art decorated the room including Diamonds in the Rough created using Lizzy House's Whisper Palette, Scrappy Litter Blox, and the Patriotic Banner. I found it very clever how the diamond quilt featured a top, side and bottom view. Then again, Sari is a certified diamontologist with the Diamond Council of America aka Sparkle Expert.
She likes her karats too. I think this Tiffany Box Quilt has a few...zillion!
If you want to make your own diamonds, there's the Electric Diamond Paper Piecing Pattern.
If you love kitties, Scrappy Litter Blox is an adorable choice.
Another theme prevalent in the quilts was Flying Geese. The 12" Sun Blossom Mini blocks (shown here in Me+You Indah Batiks) were made of HSTs that can be rearranged to create new designs.
The Observer Quilt was a fascinating piece featuring Art Gallery Denim, the Observer collection, and antique lace.
Hexagons also influenced the duo. The Deco Hex quilt for April's Stash Builder Box (Use code IHEARTSBB for $3 off your first box.) was shown, as well as a version for the Wonderful Things Blog Hop.
Locations, such as the southwest, have also made an impact. Heirloom quilt is featured in the 2018 Quilter's Planner.
This mini was influence by Moroccan tiles.
A few more items of note include a Cathedral Window pillow made for the Blithe Fabrics Blog Tour using the Diary of a Quilt Maven tutorial, the Undercover Maker Mat, the Butterfly Charm Block pillow, and Feather Fall.

Come back soon for more about the trunk show with Sariella!
