FYI: May '19

Thanks for joining me for this edition of FYI, where I update you on super fun quilting going-ons so you don't miss out. For the full details on each event, make sure you click through to the hosting websites.

First up, Quilt Expo and Nancy Zieman Productions are holding the Modern Mini Quilt Challenge this month on social media. To participate (US only), make one (multiple entries are not allowed) 24" square or smaller modern mini featuring a modern color palette and design, and e-mail a picture of it along with the title, measurements, and a brief description to QEChallenge@gmail.com by 5 pm CDT May 21, 2019. Include your name and city. Share using #ModernMiniQuiltChallenge. Entries will be posted to the Quilt Expo Facebook Page. Many generous sponsors are awarding $3,000 worth of prize packages. Winners will be announced May 28.

Gosia of Quilts my Way is hosting the Geometric Fun Quilt Along. There will be 20 parts shared on the first of each month at her blog. Blocks are available at $1 each in Gosia's Etsy shop or for free on the day of release to members of her Facebook group. At the end of the event, participants can submit  an unlimited number of quilts sewn according to the pattern and shared on Facebook or Instagram using #GeometricFun for a chance to win prizes.

Esther Aliu is hosting a Quilt Along, Wrapt in Love until November 15th. The 82" square quilt features four unique flowers and a border of basket blocks beneath curvy vines. The pattern is available exclusively to her Quilt Group members (in the Group files area), and will not be for sale until 2020.

Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs is hosting the Mosaic Mystery Quilt Along from July - April. Directions will release the first Thursday of each month, beginning July 4th with fabric requirements and hints about selection. Prizes will be awarded randomly to those who submit finished tops/quilts in April. Cheryl offers an un-mystery option and a Facebook group for camaraderie.

Moda is hosting, At the Seashore, an ocean-themed quilt along this summer. There will be lots of options, but quilt settings will be offered ahead of time.
