Brigitte Morgenroth presented
Log Cabin - Today! at Quilt Festival in Houston last October. The exhibit featured contemporary Log Cabin quilts in an assortment of arrangements and materials.
White Frost is a testament to the texture provided by piecing, even when using a single fabric.

Brigitte was still working on this Twisted Log Cabin with gradation. I really love it!
These versions inspire me to take the Log Cabin in new directions. What about you?
Oh that clamshell version is amazing! I do love a log cabin block; always have, always will. These are very inspirational.
ReplyDeleteI talked with Brigitte at Festival. She is pretty feisty! I asked if she did any sewing by hand, and her response was - no time for that! Also, she paper pieces, but she's old school and her foundations are the tissue thin phone books, etc. It was fun to get "behind the scenes" insight into how she quilts!
ReplyDeleteFabulous quilts. My favorite block and any with stars.
ReplyDeletePretty quilts, all of them. I love log cabin, and have made both traditional and with a "swing". You may see my denim quilts, where I vary between 3,5 cm and 6 cm stripes. There is a tutorial on my blog also.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome collection of log cabin quilts. I love the ones where the block is made with a single fabric, the texture is amazing!
