Quilt Market: Chenile It

New things are happening in the world of Chenille-It.

Instead of cutting through multiple layers of stacked fabric, they have devised a simpler alternative.

The solution comes in the form of an easily unraveled chenille bias tape that comes on a roll.

Here's an up-close investigation of the concept. You stitch down the middle of the 5/8" strip, wash, and ta-da!

The finished result mimics the former process quite well. Double layers can provide a bi-color effect.

Use a wash-away interfacing for layered techniques. Rows can be sewn and crosscut into striped squares.

For an alternative binding, Stitch a stripe on either side of the edge, and let it frizz in the wash.

Have you tried chenille techniques before. If so, are you amazed?

  1. I've bought several different colors of the chenille tape, but haven't used it yet. :-)
