C&T Spring Sale

C&T, major publisher of quilting books, is having a huge discount sale.

spring fling 2

It starts now, and ends in just a few days --- April 6 at 10 pm. Shop now for the best selection, or because, if you're like me, you'll remember your big intentions on April 7. 😥 This is an excellent opportunity to build your reference and pattern library. Brand new books are going for prices that are less than a single pattern. Here are a few of my favorites:

I participated in the Modern Plus Sign Quilts book tour. Check out that post here.

Transfer Embellish Stitch looks like mixed media fun.

Scrap Patchwork has plenty of choices for your stash.

Happy reading!

Quilt Market: Michael Miller

How about a tour around the Michael Miller fall Quilt Market booth? And if you're bored with being all cooped up, check out the #makingitfun YouTube channel.

Michael Miller is celebrating 20 years. Remember when Polaroid quilts were everywhere you looked? Well, this is a pretty sweet flashback.

On the left you see Cotton Couture and the right features Woodland Musicians which ships in April. The And The Band Plays On quilt pattern will be free and available in April.

Here's a bit more Cotton Couture, which added 38 new earthy colors in September.

Dog Show is a whimsical novelty line featuring your greatest companion. The Dog Show Portrait Quilt is a free pattern by Susan Emory.

The Eat, Sleep, Garden Quilt made up in the collection releasing this month by the same name is designed by Sam Hunter.

The Beary Christmas Quilt pattern by Wendy Sheppard using the Red & White collection will be available in June.

I appreciate humor in The Mushroom Fan Club by Elise Gravel. Below is a glimpse of the Funky Fungi quilt by Heidi Pridemore.

Quilt Market: Tilda

Tilda's perfectly imperfect world is always cozy, beautiful, and full of infinite possibilities.

Fall Quilt Market introduced shops to Happy Camper and Bon Voyage.

Tilda has gifted sewers with free project patterns for each of the newest lines.

I'll start us off with designs using Happy Camper.

The Kimono Girl Pillow made up in Happy Camper is a great idea for a shorter term commitment than a full-fledged quilt.

For those in need of a longer-term distraction, the Kimono Girls Quilt, measuring in at 62" x 78 1/2", awaits. All the girls are made the same way, but using different prints. The pattern includes instructions for two colorway options.

The Flowers and Bees Quilt with fabrics from Happy Camper and Meadow Basics (on the left) is made with two blocks (Flower and Bee) from the Mix & Match collection.

Bon Voyage is coming this summer.

Bon Voyage is inspired by ceramics, but given a more subdued color palette. The popular floral blender "Sophie" is back in four new colors. The collection is a combination of large scale and smaller scale designs, making it versatile enough for any project.

Patterns will include the Butterfly Quilt, Flowerpot Quilt, Me & My Dog Quilt, Fia Doll, and Blue Pillow.

Quilt Market: Figo

FIGO Fabrics, Northcott's modern division, had a lovely, paneled display for each of their upcoming collections at Quilt Market.

Dana Willard of MADE Everyday has such whimsy and joyfulness in her collections. I can't resist the animal cookie print in her Butterscotch collection coming this March. The Sadie Quilt by Kitchen Table Quilting is shown below.

Shown below is the Free London Dress by Violette Field Threads.

DIY by Amy van Luijk, "captures the feelings of creative delight of time spent making," as stated in the lookbook. Featured projects include the Art Smock by Oliver + S, the free Oslo Craft Bag pattern by Sew Sweetness, Stitch Happens by Kelli Fannin, and Big Blocks Quilt by Jemima Flendt of Tied with a Ribbon.

Polar Magic is a holiday fiesta courtesy of Annie Chen of Lemonni. Projects include the Oaklyn Dress by Violette Field Threads, the Tied with  Ribbon Christmas Cheer Advent Calendar, and the Prairie Tracks Quilt by Cotton + Joy.

Glasshouse by Emily Taylor is reminiscent of Victorian hot houses, and a sizable collection with 25 cottons and four rayons across two colorways (pink & blue).  Check out the Lakeside Pajamas by Grainline Studio and the King's Dash by Satterwhite Quilts.

American Road Trip by Jacqueline Colley is inspired by American pop culture and completely fun, as seen in the Rainbow Falls quilt by Wren Collective, Sweet Treats Cushion by Jemima Flendt of Tied with a Ribbon, and the Mini Bondi Top by Sew to Grow.

Sangria by Marisol Ortega, a jewel-toned, berry-inspired collection, shows well in the CharliAnne Wrap Dress, Campfire Messenger Bag by Noodlehead, and Southwest Sunshine by Emily Denis of Quilty Love.
