Quilt Market: Robert Kaufman

I always enjoy dropping by the Robert Kaufman booth at Quilt Market. The designers are brilliant professionals who never cease to generate pleasant surprises in design. Violet Craft brought forth the gusto with a handmade balloon arch to introduce her Modern Classics blender line. WOW! I love that the Domino Dots of her 2013 Waterfront Park line are making a comeback in new hues.

If that's not enough, a mythological unicorn that can transform into a down-to-earth horse (Unicorn & Horse Abstractions Quilt Pattern) is Violet's next Abstractions paper-pieced pattern. The pattern is 60" square, but has a free template expansion that brings it up to 80" square.

Her booth also featured the Country Star Barn Quilt and the Holly Holiday Quilt.

Elizabeth Hartman is taking her fabric prints and animal patterns on a safari adventure.

Spectacular Savannah is a heads-up encounter with grassland creatures.

I love the look of the August quilt pattern using Adventure's coordinating solids.

Lemurs are the predominant animal print in the Adventure collection, and they show off in the Lana Lemur pattern.

Coordinating Essex fabrics are also available.

In addition tow ovens, ombres continue to be hot this season. I predict Jennifer Sampou's Sky is going to be a hot commodity come November when the collection appears in shops. With so many quilts inspired by nature, a nice background for landscapes is a fabric stash staple. The feature project, Dawn Star (shown below) is a beauty!

How about a little giveaway. I picked up a tiny sample of Sky, and I want to spread the celestial joy. Get your chance to win using the Rafflecopter below.

I'm all about the Kona 2019 Color of the Year, Splash, and the Kaufman display was very fun. Solids are getting even bigger in 2019. Boasting 342 hues, the Kona selection is unrivaled.

Carolyn Friedlander has gone deep, dark, and mysterious with Instead. Read more about the new moody collection and the quilt below, Arlo, on her blog.

That's all for now, but I'll be back soon with new releases from Quilt Market.
