If this is your first visit to my blog, welcome! Here's a snapshot of some of the projects I share on Quilting Mod.
I want this space to be a resource for you to gain knowledge about quilting techniques, interact with other quilters, learn about the modern quilting aesthetic, and find inspiration for your own projects. Please check out my tabs to locate free quilt pattern websites, link up any quilt block tutorials you have posted to your blog, peruse linky parties to join, search for outstanding Quilt Alongs, check out some tutorials, and experience the paper-piecing fun of the Drive Through Quilt Along.
Now let's get to the moment you've been waiting for--the giveaway!
Up for grabs is a tape measure, invisible thread in smoke by YLI, multi-colored Coats & Clark thread, a Fiskars 6" rotating cutting mat, Simple Circles acrylic rulers, and a Ty Pennington jelly roll. The mat is pre-loved, so please pardon some surface scratches; it won't affect the usefulness. All the other items are in perfect condition!
To be in the running please leave a comment letting me know what you like about the Quilting Mod blog, or what you would suggest for its improvement.
I'd love if you would follow my blog. If you do, add a second comment letting me know how you follow for an extra entry.
The contest is open to those with U.S. shipping addresses. The winner will be chosen by random number generator on May 16.
Your blog is new to me, so I can't make suggestions, although I do LOVE that road quilt above, and so would my son! Thanks for the giveaway! sarah@forrussia.org

ReplyDeletehmm, maybe some background image or categories list in the sidebar?, really its just fine though
ReplyDeleteI second the suggestion about a categories list in the sidebar. Maybe also those cool icons (like Pinterest, Instagram, RSS Feed, Facebook, etc.) to make it easier for people to find you on multiple platforms?
ReplyDeleteI'm following with Bloglovin now.
ReplyDeleteI would also agree with the suggestion to add widgets for people to follow and categories list. I'm new to your blog, so I can't really comment on content, but I do like what I have seen. :) coralbunnyandlo [at] gmail [dot] com
ReplyDeleteI just started following you through the New Quilt Blogger Hop so I don't have any suggestions yet. Beautiful picture of you and your family!

ReplyDeleteI love you beautiful quilts, esp. the PP mermaid.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is new to me. I like blogs with tutorials and I will be checking out the QAL/BOM tab for sure. Thanks for the chance at your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteLove tuts. Wish I had seen the Drive thru quilt before I used up my road 15 fabrics. Wait I have some scraps left. Need to hunt down more of the bigger yardage. My grandson would love it. Cindy bluemoonstencils@yahoo.com

ReplyDeleteHow about a.header photo collage?
ReplyDeleteI love the Drive Through QAL quilt. Added it to my 'To Do' list. Thanks for making the blocks free. I didn't see a link to look at your finished projects.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have a chance to stop by your blog during this blog hop. I follow on BL.
ReplyDeleteI love how organized your blog is! Sometimes it can be so hard to find things on blogs, but you've got it all organized up top. Well done! Thanks for the chance to win such a fab prize pack!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is well organized and you have lots of lovely things - maybe spice it up with some cheery colors and more photos of your beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteHi! I do love the quilt block library and the tutorials but would like them better with better photography. The paper piecing is very interesting and I will be back to look through that more carefully. I really think this green color looks outdated and does not go with your name or who you are. Can you freshen it up with white or a pale gray? I would also choose a Blogger template with a lovely photo of your work. Show it off!
ReplyDeleteI like how organized it is. as for a suggestion, maybe a header image?

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
Hadn't found you before today, and really, I don't see anything that could use improvement. Well wait, I do concur with the posters above who suggested a header. Those give an instant hit of your aesthetics and taste and what's to be expected in the blog. Lovely giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThe mermaid quilt is fantastic
ReplyDeleteI love the star block in the lower left hand corner - I've never seen a pattern like that before!
ReplyDeleteI loved that I was able to use your blog as a one stop resource to try out tutorials (or favorite them for future use). As a brand new quilter some of the books and quilt magazines are overwhelming for a newbie and you're not quite sure you want to make the commitment. I also got a lot out of your binding tutorial and some reassurance reading the comments in your first quilt thread (we all have to start somewhere!!) Thanks so much for your blog and the opportunity to win!
ReplyDeleteI also follow on bloglovin =)
ReplyDeleteI love good tutorials. Thanks for the chance!

ReplyDeleteHello Afton, I am in love with your Focal Star, the colors are very beautiful.... I like the colors that you have incorporated into your Mod quilts.... I am not a fan of grey, I guess it stems from my dislike of battleships and subs colored grey....any way I added you to my bloglovin list as I am sure you are going to show me some great quilts in the future....
ReplyDeletei like the pictures and designs you share with us
ReplyDeleteIt's a little thing, but -- the blue of your links is barely readable to me against the blue background. So instead of emphasizing them, they fade away. Thanks for this chance, I'd love a rotating mat!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. Your blog is new to me, but I've just started following!
ReplyDeleteLove the layout and the colors! (nibblet42@aol.com)

I am starting work on an interactive "doll house" wall hanging...and your drive along.. would be perfect for the back of the wall hanging....the fabric little dolls could "walk around the corner" to the park or store! Mind if I use your idea?

ReplyDeleteHaving only been here this once I can't really input anything meaningful. However I did notice tour follow buttons were a bit burried on the side making them a tad more difficult to find but not at all awful. I would put it under your picture or button so it is right there when people first come to the page.
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog & took a quick look around. Really like your Quilt Block Library link-up. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteNew follower with Bloglovin'. Thanks again.

ReplyDeleteHooray! A paper piecer, I love paper piecing! I also like your Drive Through Quilt, could you tell me how big it measures? I plan to make it if I can somehow make it into a twin sized. I won Esther Paperpatch? train pattern, the six blocks, so if it's too small I could add that to either side. My head is buzzing.
ReplyDeleteIt's currently 49" x 73" with the borders. I would recommend adding one more block to each row, and adding an additional row. You can print the building and vehicle patterns in reverse and use different color combinations to make the non-symmetrical blocks look a little different. Also, a few more tree and vehicle blocks wouldn't hurt. Piece together the strips that go above and below the dashed line in the center of the road, to make them long enough. One width of fabric strip will not work for a twin size quilt. You will need additional road fabrics and border fabrics, but it is completely possible.
DeleteOf course, I'm now following you on bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time here, but I love your quilts!
