In case you haven't heard, the Blogger's Quilt Festival has begun. The linky party is open until Friday, if you'd like to enter a quilt. Categories include Mini, Small, Large, Applique, Art, Hand Quilted, Home Machine Quilted, Modern, Original Design, ROYGBIV, and Scrappy.
I have not yet revealed my completed Modern Sampler quilt to the online world, as he's been serving as a class sample up until recently. (I don't know why this fella is a "he", but humor me, will you?) At last, he's had his chance in the sun. Literally, as I took him outside of my dimly lit home for glamour shots. (I have a personal housecleaning theory that if you close the blinds and dim the lights, the dust is less apparent. Just kidding. Ok, I'm at least partially kidding.)
If you haven't met him before, you can see some details of his childhood in my earlier post.
Here he is laying out on the luscious green grass. Full disclosure here: This is not my
grass. This isn't even grass in my neighborhood. My grass is more of a neutral color. I'd show you the ugly truth, but I've already told you my dusting secret, so it will have to wait until another post so you aren't overwhelmed with too much reality at once.
I'm entering my Modern Sampler in the Small Quilt category, as it is 39" x 54". Don't underestimate him though; he's plenty tough. In fact, how about some shots of him enjoying on of his favorite pastimes--rock climbing? He scaled this beast without breaking a sweat.
As, you may have guessed, this modern man enjoys athletic pursuits. Check out his textured mid-section. Yep, those core exercises have been paying off. Don't tell him how much definition he has there, because he'll get a big head about it.

Now he's just showing off! "I could do a pull up too if I wanted, maybe. But I don't. So there."
"Tree climbing? Really? Get down before you fall on your head." I suppose I can't fault him. I do love a man with a good sense of humor.
Here's a candid shot I took as he was traipsing across the rocks.
Awww! I love this one. I think it really captures his whole essence. He's working it from head to toe, and has found the light.
I do adore his contemplative nature, which I've captured in this lifestyle shot. Isn't it sweet how he takes time to gaze upon the clouds and smell the roses, or ... unknown southwestern plant? My apologies, I am not a member of Master Gardeners. If you I actually showed you my yard, then you'd understand.
Well, I think you've seen enough of my new man. If you are crushing on him, won't you please vote for him in the Man of the Year Competition, or perhaps the Blogger's Quilt Festival.
