Sylvia Schafer of Flying Parrot Quilts was the Craftsy Quilt Design Fellowship winner for this year, which meant she was awarded a booth a Quilt Market. Her Epic Halloween Quilt Along had captured my attention, and The Disintegration of the Persistence of Artichokes was one of my favorites at Quilt Con. She was exuberant in person and her patterns are varied and clever.
Geo Rex is awesome! What's more, Sylvia had T-rex temporary tattoos. (Say that three times fast.) My oldest son is enthusiastically sporting one at this very moment. The Potions quilt is totally geek chic, whether Halloween-themed or for year round scientific appreciation.
There's a style for everyone from paper-piecers to appliqué aficionados to traditional piecers. Below are Geo Rex, Dogwood Dreams, and Celestial Orbs.
Meeting of the Geese, Gossamer Wings, The Artichoke Mini, and Spooky Spider adorned the other side of the booth.
The former elementary teacher in me wants ALL OF IT. What about you?
They are all beautiful. I love the colors and the energy they all inspire.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by the artichoke piece. The dogwood quilt is pretty, and I do have that paper crane quilt on my mental list of to-do-someday quilts. It's been on my favorites list in Craftsy, or maybe I bought the pattern! I can't even remember!
ReplyDeleteAfton, I have loved all your Quilt Market posts. You outdid yourself with all the pics and great descriptions. Take care, Mary.
